How do I stop entrance CCTV from showing a dark face?
Start with camera direction, target position, background brightness, door and glass conditions, and supplemental or controlled light. Test WDR and exposure settings on recorded footage at the real threshold; a feature label alone does not guarantee identification.
Should an entrance camera face inside or outside?
The direction follows the task. Face it toward the approach when arrival detail matters, toward the interior when the threshold or movement matters, or use separate roles when both tasks cannot be preserved in one view.
Does WDR solve every entrance backlight problem?
No. WDR can be part of the design, but angle, lens, exposure, motion, light position, reflections, and recorded compression also affect the result. Verify the target under the difficult transition.
